Does anyone know of a good camping shop near Cardiff? Ideally quite a big one with lots of choice etc..

There is a Cotswold Outdoor (cotswoldoutdoor.com) at Pontyclun, Cardiff not sure what size shop and they tend to be on expensive side. Have you tried a Google search under Cardiff camping suppliers?

bought our tent from camping and kite centre

nearer Newport than Cardiff ... but well worth the journey if you can make it.

There was somebody on here a while back that said that a new camping shop had also opened up in Bridgend and it was getting good reviews. I remember it was in an industrial area, but soory, can't be any more help than that.

yes, there is one on the bridend industrial estate. I visited once ans was so pleased with it. Sraff are so friendly, well worth a visit. Bridgend camping and leisure is shop name.

Discovery in Newport has a good shop, used to be Mendip Caravans.... We are lacking of a good all round camping/caravan shop in South Wales if anyone can muster the courage to open one I think it would do quite well!

I have used OBI in Cowbridge  in the past and found them helpful   http://www.obicamping.co.uk/

 Bridgend camping and leisure is really good, quite a few tents on display and plenty of accessories as well. Staff were really helpful when we purchased a new tent last week (Vango Tigris 800).

We used abc camping in Swansea when we were down in South Wales a few weeks ago. They seemed to have everything you could possibly want! It's another one on an industrial estate.

Thanks everyone - I popped into Bridgend Camping in the end yesterday as was near the area - can confirm it's great, large shop in industrial unit and very helpful staff. When I pointed out the coleman comfort single airbed I wanted was £16.99 on their website and £24.99 in the shop they honoured the price on the website.. Said they were last years prices - not sure if that is the case but was very happy with the amount of stock and the friendly staff. Would def return.. Cheers! S
