I've got two brand new Tilley storm lanterns up in my attic, they've never been out of the box. They've got to be over 20 years old now, do any of you regular tilley users reckon they'd be safe to light now & how should I best go about it.
Someone broke our big gas light recently & I hadn't given the tilley lamps a thought until reading this thread. We used to use them on the farm years ago if we needed to go out during the night & I remember the lovely smell they give off.
Any advice would be much appreciated, if I can get them going it'll save me buying a new gas lamp for the awning.
