Had mine 4 years, sometimes it lights itself, sometimes I have to use a lighter or match. Always been the same. The knob is still very stiff to turn. Have used it loads.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.
I've just put mine on ebay if anyone wants one. They are great, but I need to free up some space in the car to make room for the dog! If I don't have room in the car for it I can't see the point in keeping it in the shed either!!!
You had me worried for a miniute, I was thinking blimy iv'e been lighting mine with a match, didn't realise it had an ignition then thought id better google it and realise mines not the same one we have a party grill max. lol
we almost bought one of these today ,they look fab!
They are fab....it's one of these fairly modest pieces of kit that you end up constantly finding new uses for. Third burner when you're catering for the masses on a standard camp cooker; easier than taking the BBQ; emergency cooking facility when your main gas runs out; the only stove you need to take for lightweight weekends when all you're cooking is a cuppa and a bacon roll; easy to take on picnics and outings for making hot drinks or a few sausages down the beach and finally you can cook a great breakfast fry up on it. I got mine for £19.99 in Asda a few years back and love it. It packs down really small as well and is surprisingly economical on the gas, plus it's a lot more versitile than a suitcase stove. I bought a large lidded paella pan for mine, and you couldn't use a big wide pan like that on a suitcase stove.
