Is there a club for canvas tent owners? If so can I join, just purchased a secondhand Cabanon Athena off of ebay. Having been in our Vango durring the recent hot weather we didn't want to repeat the experience.

Having spent more money then we wanted I need a bit of reassurance, does canavs make that much of a difference in the hot weather? did we make the right choice with Cabanon? and are they as easy to put up as people say they are?

You made the PERFECT choice

Canvas tents are cooler in the hot weather and warmer in the cold weather.

No official club that I know of but just come and post in under canvas with the rest of us.

If you would like to join us then we are having a meet at Pillaton Hall Farm (Staffordshire) in September and there will be a few Canvas tents there as well as lots of UKCS members.

Hi, to answer your questions. Yes  Yes  and  Yes.

Now you feel really good don't you.

I'm just changing over to all canvas tents. I now have two bell tents, a small canvas dome tent and a larger dome/tunnel tent. A Litchfield Palladin 3 ridge tent, and a Royal camping Orion 3 ridge tent.

I had a frame tent but it was destroyed in a gale. They are easy to pitch, and I'm sure you will be delighted.

Canvas tent, paraffin light, petrol stove. Heaven
I'd rather be kayaking.
Spent up, not pent up, just had my new tent up.

Imagine going on a budget package holiday every year to a 2 star hotel, then one year your upgraded to a 5 star Hilton, if Hilton did tents, they would be called Cabanon17

Cabanon are the Rolls Royce of tents.  Canvas will out last any man made fabric if well looked after.  Canvas does breathe, but you'll still find any tent very hot on a sunny day.

The Camping & Caravan Club caters for tents (though some on here argue it is biassed towards large caravans & motorhomes).  We have been in it for about seven years & like it.  You'll more than make up the membership fee in the first year from the discount on their sites.

Steve.
