I was at a holiday rally a couple of weeks ago (Little Cotton, Dartmouth, well recommended!!!)
The host steward had a trio of bulbs in his awning that I was very impressed with. He said he had obtained them from Scotland and done the wiring himself.
The lamps were 12volt 5 watt with a full size edison screw fitting. The laps were approx 5" long and 2 1/2" wide with a corregated outer surface and within this surface was a tube (similar to the new energysaver bulbs). The bulbs took a couple of mins. to warm up but once up and running gave a good light.
I have tried to obtain some on returning home to no avail. Anyone out there seen anything similar.?
