Last year Aldi did a set of pans - 3 in total, 1 was a frying pan - they came in a net bag with a handle.  Well, I was a newbie last year and used them only once.  I came back yesterday from 2 days away where I was very nearly scalded.    I lifted a pan of boiling water off the cooker and it tipped forward.  On closer inspection I saw that the handle has melted where it grips the lip of the pans.  I was in Aldi today and saw that they have the same ones in again.  I was considering taking the handle back and getting it replaced but is there any point?  Has this hapened to anyone else?  The pans are great, really non stick and so easy to clean so I'm a bit miffed - I was wondering if it's possible to buy another hanlde - maybe metal? - any ideas

Same thing happened to my pans, only I stopped using them before an accident happened.  They felt lethal

Replaced them with the Coleman set on offer at Amazon last week.

It is a shame, I agree the non-stick was brilliant, even worked on scrambled eggs!

Might be worth sending a letter of concern to head office??

Exactly the same thing happened to me with the aldi pan handle... but luckily I also have a Trangia and the metal handle from that works fine with them.. they are slippy though so you have to be careful.   Even with the metal handle our rice ended up on the floor on our last holiday.

I had a similar problem with the handle - its not suitable for leaving on the pans for any length of time - like more than 30 secs - but its very difficult to use the frying pan without having the handle attached.

I also found them very slippy - in fact the only bit of that set I'm still using is the net lol!

Just took mine back to Aldi, they were really understanding and refunded me even though I didn't have the receipt.  The store manager was going to pass the information to the area manager, which is good because these things are really dangerous. 

We only used the handle whilst stirring food but it still melted, so they really aren't fit for the purpose intended, and I really was petrified that they would end up pouring hot food/water over someone.
