me and my mum have just purchased one from camperlands wohoo no more stinging my backside on nettles lol.
who has one and takes one everytime or do you only take it every now and again?
I think if I had one, I'd take it every time I solo camped, and every time I camped with hubby. But on the occassions I camp with a girlfriend, I wouldn't take it, as we wouldn't have anywhere private to put it during the night...
------------- 2011 plans:
April - Exmoor 11 nights
May - Brynawelon, Wales 3 nights
July - Rendlesham Forest 4 nights
Then I am off back home to Australia, where the weather is always perfect for camping :)
We bought one with our first tent. It's bulky and a nightmare to squeeze in, but well worth it with kids! We took it in April and it got used every night because it was so cold and we had to hike to the toilet block. We also took it in May, but then had the good luck to be within easy distance of the loos, and also much warmer weather.
We are extremely glad we've got it, but wouldn't necessarily take it with us every time. If we were going somewhere in the summer for instance, it would be better to use that space in the boot for healthy outdoor pursuits. But if we couldn't guarantee being within easy walking distance of the loos, whatever the weather, we'd probably take it.
We boght one last year and wouldn't dream of camping without it but we have two bedroom tents so always
have a spare bedroom to use it so its no bother. But we think its great and now don't have to worry about running about in the dark or camping within reasonable distance of the toilet block.
Don't forget that you can pack stuff into it for the journey there, and if you take a swing-bin liner, you can use the space on the way home too. I'm not sure what size the inside of a Kampa Khazi is, but we can carry a calor bottle, spare pegs, well-wrapped loo roll, Zoflora to use in the loo, and other bits'n'bobs in our elderly Raclet loo.
They are far more space efficient than the flushing porta-loo's in my opinion.
thanks people im glad ive got one but they are kinda big will put items in the bucket on the way there to help on space.
Intresting to know most will take everytime, im sure i probably will hate walking across a dark campsite in the middle of the night.
I take it for trips when we are using more basic sites with limited facilities. I use WAG bags with mine so on the way from home it is packed with WAG bags and gas cylinders and glowsticks, and on the way back it is packed with dirty clothes.
