The taste does go with use over time, however if you fill it up and place in a steradent (denture cleaner) tablet you should find the taste of plastic goes. Plus you get minty fresh breath!!

I just use the the 2ltr and 5 ltr water containers that drinking water comes in, then refill them when empty. No taste ever, and they work out cheaper than an empty plastic water container.

we do exactly the same as raf 48.

Also a bonus for us as theres less to bring home too as we dump them at the end of each trip (recycle them if site has recycling for plastic available)

We did the same thing and that first cup of tea when set up was horrible! so we also buy the 5 ltre water from supermarket and use that and refill on site then throw away at end of trip.

Same as Raf and Pager - take a 1 or 2 ltr bottle with us (from supermarket) and then buy 5ltr when we go shopping and reuse that.

We use a good dose of baking soda with warm water & leave overnight then rinse out. We do this at the begininng of the season and is sufficient to last for several months.
