    Hi Sprout

    Welcome to the UKCS.

I have heard that the Bulldog wheel clamp can be a bit of a pain to fit.  Never tried it myself.  We use a Milenco which seems to get some good press.  It is nice and easy to fit and transport about.  It too is sold secure ( insurance tested and approved)

116 These guys have the Milenco and the Bulldog.  You might want to consider a hitch lock as well, working on the premise that two security devices will take longer to remove.  If they want it they will have it, your job is to make it as difficulat as you can for them.

    Hi Sprout,

When we had our Conway Camborne tt we used the SAS New Trailer Clamp, either the TC or T10 model, can't remember which.  To view:

    www.sasproducts.co.uk

It's not the type of clamp with 3 'arms' as they can't fit over the top of the wheel of the Camborne but you can see on the website exactly what it is like.  I'm sure you will be able to tell if it would fit your Suncamp when you see it.

    Sandy (Jazzycats).

    Hi Sprout

We have bought from them but not used the mail order.  My comment was more  "what about the Milenco" rather than use Tow sure.  If you are really worried about security then this may be the best but the SAS clamps look quite substantial as well.  For when it is at home you could also use wall anchors to chain it up. If you have a local caravan dealer or something go take a look and ask to try them out in the shop.

I can not remember who on this forum had a trailer tent nicked. no sign of the hitch lock etc. The suspicion is it got loaded on to a trailer rather then towed away.

Good luck with what ever you choose.

I just had a further thought, call the local crime prevention officer at the police station.  I am sure he could come round and offer some advice.  He may even have experience as what has not worked in your local area.

    Hi Sprout

It was me who had the tt nicked. I didnt have a wheel clamp on mine, as only had it a month was buying thing gradually.

My folding camper that I have now has numerous security features attached.

Wheel clamp, hitchlock, security posts, ground anchor with thatchem approved security chain and lock, 2 other padlocks securing the gate and 2 metal gates concreted into the ground, removable by unlocking them.

If someone wants something they will get it, our job is to make it as complicated and time consuming as poss, there minimallising the risk.

I forgot to mention. I was impressed by towsures delivery. I ordered my whhelclamp from them, paid standard postage and was told it would take 7-10 days. 6 days later I received it and there was a weekend in the middle.

Check out this AutoExpress review of the common wheel clamps.

    http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/?http://www.autoexpress.co.uk/product_test/product_test_story.php?id=34871

We bought the Bulldog QD as it is is relatively light in comparison to the Titan and not as bulky when dismantled. I don't think they do a 10-inch wheel version though.

<Edit> It appears that you have to login now? I found it through google and didn't have to? Currently, its the first one on the list, from this link:
