You can buy just the plastic spindle (is it the Elegance tap?). We had this problem in our previous caravan and found most dealers only sold the complete new tap. (very expensive!)
We got ours from The Caravan Shop in Glasgow. A long way from you, but he is very helpful and does mail order. Could be a last resort if nowhere closer!
We always carried a few spare ones. Will see if I can find the phone number.

The bit on ours that broke was sort of a disc with a grooved spindle in the middle, it is under the handwheel. Is that the bit?
