Hi, I have just bought a Campingaz Powerbox 36 Classic. I have a couple of questions which the instructions do not answer.

Does the fan ever stop as in is it thermostatically controlled and know when it gets to 18 degrees lower than the outside temperature.

Secondly, How long can you leave it unplugged for and still maintain a decent temperature in it.

And thirdly, I will be using EHU where I can, but if I have it plugged into my car overnight for example, would my battery be flat in the morning?

Thanks in advance.

Steve

Hi Steve!

The specs I saw on the internet don`t say anything about temperature controlled by a thermostate. So I suppose your cooler doesn`t has one and the fan will be always working;

The temperature will rise at a rate of +- 0,3ºc a minute if you don`t have ice bags inside and with an outside temperature of 25/30ºC

The power consumation will be something around 48/50 watt an hour. 50/12= +- 4,2 Ah hour, you just need to see how many Ah your battery has. An example will be a battery with 74 Ah. 74/2=37 ( I use this account because a battery should be discharged bellow 50% to avoid shortning is live. So 37/4.2= +- 8 hour.
Note that if the coolbox doesn`t has a battery protection system, will draw completly the battery - the best to prevent that will be to connect the coolbox to a smalll inverter ( but also note that the inverter will have only 80% efficiency, so your coolbox will run a bit less of time, but at leats you will know that your car always will start

Hope it helped

Cheers!
