hi everybody

is there anyone out there who's tried those portable satellite tripods and do they work/

i was talking to a fellow caravanner and he used a sky dish + box and it worked fine when he's tuned it in.

i've been reading about those free to air satellite channels. (60cm dish) . do these work?

cheers

corni.

Hi corni

I've been using sky on a tripod for over 3 years & never had any problems just remember to peg it down as it will fall over in the slightest breeze, cheapest place i've found recently is ALDI for a tripod

Following a tip on here, I bought a rotary clothes drier from Argos, removed the line and turned it upside down - perfect!

I saw a guy in France a few weeks ago with a novel idea, he had a length of metal pipe and a large plastic parasol base. The parasol base was filled with water and the dish clamped to the pole and the stuck in the base. Looked very cheap but effective.

I use a ground screw as sold occassionally at Aldi & Lidl. They're about a fiver and then just put a length or aerial pole in and attach a dish !
