I usually take my Sky subscription card with us when we go off in the caravan. Now my son has got Sky multiroom, and I don't think I can now take my card out from my box. Is this correct?
Do you not have to take your box too as your card will only work in the box it belongs to. In that case you can take the whole box, card and remote with you. We have multiroom and take one of our boxes, complete with card, with us everytime we go away. Each box has it's own feed from the dish and they don't all need to be attached for them all to work. It doesn't matter which of your digiboxes you take.

You can take it and use it. Although it is coded to the set top box at home it will work in another box but you will not get the premium channels. My Dad has the same problem. I think I`m fairly sure, I will be corrected if wrong.
If you only want the "free" channel you can use the sky digibox without inserting a card. If you use a card from home you will get the standard channels but not the Premium ones like Sky Movies and Sky Sports, if you want these you will have to ring Sky and move card over to box in van and back again when you return, however if you have multiroom at home I don't think this would be an option as I think other home system would stop working.
As you now have multiroom, both boxes should be connected to the phone line. Taking the card out is the same as disconnecting the phone line so Sky wont like it. If it is just short trips you'll be fine but longer trips might have you finding a letter from Sky when you get back. Get three letters and they will start to charge full price for both subscriptions.
The cards are checked roughly once a month but if you do something that uses the phone line then it will 'tick' the box for that month so for a longer trip, check your sky statement using your Sky box (interactive) just before you go and then you should be fine.
The idea was to get multiroom, and take the multiroom box with us. Would this work or would Sky try to charge us for 2 systems, even though we would only use 1 at a time?
