We want to make a simple washing line using two poles, anchored by guys, with a line strung between them.  All we need is the two poles.  Simple, you may think. 

Where do we find some poles????  Millets sell a set of 2 for £20 - bit more than I was anticipating spending.  Any other ideas where to look??

Or the little plastic reels ?

Looks like a good idea, but we need something to hold the reel - we are in a tent, not a caravan.  What do you attach it to?

Re. the extendable line props - are there any on the internet?  The only thing I can envisage is the line prop we used to have at a rented house, years ago - bit like a scaffolding pole, very chunky.  Are there lightweight ones?

Is there a cheap source of a pair of poles, about 4 foot high, with spikes on the top?

Do you have porch poles, if not nearest camping shop will be able to supply.

We've got a small rotary line, we bought a ground screw base for it in Lidls, they have it in now & then & are around £3-99. The line is very stable using this ground screw base & we can dry our wet suits & towels on it no problem. I can't remember where the line came from but it wasn't a lot of money.

i have been wondering the same thing, what do people use as their washing line?we have upgraded to a camplet and spent a lot of money so trying to keep a hold on the budget now and not buy all the gadgets, though i would love one of those folding airers!

going to have a look at the links in this thread for some ideas. i like the idea of the extending line, do you attatch it to a tree or somethin ? and the other end to the tent somehow, not sure how it would work?
