Just been reading the thread aking Will it Blow Up? Someone mentioned taking the regulator off. Should we take the regulator off while we're transporting the gas from out house to the campsite? I'm a bit of a novice with these things and have no idea!

Also - we have 2 things that we want to run off of the 1 gas bottle. Someone mentioned a double nozzle...any idea where I can buy one? We go away on Tuesday.

Thanks xxx

I always take the regulator of my gas bottle when not in use..just in case it gets accidentley knocked etc which is very easy to do and will cause a leak. It is safer to remove it and put the screw top back on. As for double regulators I have never seen one and can't find one online either..not to say it doesnt exist!

The only time our regulator  is attached to our gas bottle  is when i'm cooking. Don't like the idea of  it being attached at all times!

my gas regs stay attached to our bottles at all times, but the bottles are switched off during towing and storage.

Our bottle had been leaking. I'd noticed a gas smell in the car, hallway and shed whenever it's been left there...hubby kept saying I was imagining it and eventually checked it to keep me happy. Guess what? The regulator was loose and the bottle was leaking!!!

OMG yes- regulator OFF, and valve shut tight!!  At the very least you will wear out the end of the hose and hose clamp, by keep removing the hose.

Chickadee the double nozzle is a small brass fitting which splits the gas supply 2 ways - Available at Yeomans about £3 or £4

I asume you are meaning in your caravan, not quite the same as carrying it in the boot of your car.

Regulator goes on when we set camp, I don't take it off whilst were there but I do switch it off when not cooking. It then gets taken off and packed in with the cooker ready for next time

Our regulator is attached to the hose for our cooker which is permanently attached.
We cannot store gas bottle and cooker together and I feel is is safer to remove the regulator when transporting and storing. We connect the regulator up when we set up camp and then remove it when we leave (or run out of gas)
As we use calor though we always turn the valve on the bottle off when not being used

We only go camping to see what we have forgotten and what we need to get for next time. If only we could remember where we put the list..................

I always take off the regulator for journey to & from campsite.  It only takes seconds so better being safe than sorry.

Been trying to locate a 3 way nozzle so that we can rin the Cadac an stive at same time. Nowhere here seems to sell it!  Too late to go online as we're off on Tuesday. Do we need to get a 2nd bottle then?

you might get one at your local B&Q or Homebase.  Worth a try.

Cheers
