does anyone know if you can get replacement glass for suck it and see mirrors,as both of mine fell out, luckily only one smashed,(convex),and was wondering if i could just replace the glass.thankx,DnK.
I have been useing the Suck N See towing mirrors for about a year now.
I have found them to be very good. Best of all they can be adjusted without opening the window, and also they can be safely adjusted whilst drivng, particularly when reversing on the near side
Providing you have electric mirrors.
However, During the very cold wether when temperatures have been well below zero, I found that the suction cup would not stick to the glass, even though I made sure that both sufaces were clean.
This presented me with a serious problem while towing for the Christmas holiday, as it made my towing illegal.
Please can you advise me on a satisfactory solution to this serious problem.

Hi kndave. It looks to me that the mirror is one moulded unit and the glass might not be replacable but i will stand corrected on that. Were you not using the elastics on the mirrors?

Hi tourle, try slightly(just slightly) moistening the glass or the rubber cup but not both.

I see your predicament there tourle.Sorry to kndave for hijacking your thread. Are your mirrors new?We have a set and havent experienced this happening.I think it says in the instructions not to moisten the mirror or cup anyway. How about moistening with a bit of deicer at least that would'nt freeze.Might be worth a try.
Another thing i try not to do is have the mirrors as far out as possible from the end of your door mirror. This reduces the wind resistance on the sucker. This will depend on the width of your van compared to your towing vehicle though.

Thanks for your input Dreadnought
I am just wondering if the extreme low temp' makes the cup less pliable, resulting in no suction
If that's the case tourle then that is a major manufacturing flaw.I Have towed with mine in freezing conditions without incident but mine are two years old.If yours are new then it might be worth contacting the manufacturer to see if they have had any similar complaints.

Im at a loss what to suggest next tourie. When it drops below freezing here tonight i will go out and try to fix mine on to the car again just to see if they will stick on.Perhaps its been above freezing when ive fitted my mirrors before.
