Anyone know where I obtain the metal feet/pads that attach to the corner steadies on caravan / folding campers / trailer tents. They must be the metal ones as I've tried the plastic and they are not man enough ?
We alway used this type without any problem.Plastic or metal they will still do the same job.Just because they are metal doesn't stop them sinking in any less. You could always put a block of wood underneath them for added support.
Not seen metal ones...sorry.
In reply to the answers, the set that I bought were of the plastic variety and bend on the extreme edges, if I were to put down blocks as at present I do then I would be defeating the object of having to bend down to place the blocks under the steadies. They do make the metal variety but I am having trouble sourcing this type. And in reply to andy2244 no I do not raise the camper with the steadies.
We used the plastic ones with our Pathfinder and they were fine. We levelled it from to back on the jockey wheel, then the steadies only the minimum amount to level it widthways. The pads were fine, on both grass and hardstanding. But the weather seemed better then
I use a short length of 4x2 under each stabiliser & one under the jockey. One of them came in very handy on the way home several times, we had 3 punctures over the years & the trolley jack wouldn't go under the axle with a flat tyre. I drove forward a little pulling the flat tyre upon a piece of the wood, the jack then fitted no problem. Dual purpose, very cheap & easy to replace.
