Hi all,

We have to get a double air mattress - one of those about a foot off the floor as I have a slipped disc and getting up from ground level is difficult.  Can anyone advise as to which makes are largest and most comfortable please?

Thank you.

We have a kingsize intex bed which I find really comfy and I suffer with a bad back.

That's the only thing that I will be sad about losing when we start using our new Trailer Tent this weekend!

Thanks jlbf.  That looks great.  I'll just have to measure the main pod of our tent to see if it will fit inside.

I've just had a look at the reviews for this on Amazon and while lots of people say it is really comfortable it seems that it really isn't a queen size but 4'6". ??

Did you measure it?  That's what people have complained about - it being described as 60" but it's actually 53".

Ooh no didn't measure it, we have a kingsize (5ft) at home though and it didn't seem any smaller.

Definately bigger than the double airbed that we had before that though 17

You've got me wondering now! If I had the space I would try it out, but our garage (and lounge) is full of all our camping gear plus two large tents (vango aspen and an outwell indiana), caravan awning (won't even go there!) and there's a trailer tent on the drive waiting for space to move into the garage lol

Thanks I'll check that one out too.

I'd like to hear from others with the Intex bed - is it a full 5 ft?  If it isn't we couldn't manage.  As it is we use a double sideways with a single along the bottom to give extra space widthways.  It just about fills the main pod of our Carina 8 but that's fine - its comfortable - just difficult for me to get up!  (Not a pretty sight me rolling out of the bedroom!)

We've got one too, and I'm sure it's wider than our double at home! Can't get it out to measure it as it's buried in the loft with all the other gear, but it completely fills the middle pod of our Vermont xl, which is 160 cm wide or 5 feet 3 inches. Hope this helps, we find it miles better than our old airbed. The built in pump is good and it's very supportive.

Thank you.  I'll check out all of these.

The Aerobed looks lovely - like a real bed - but very expensive  tinallkn4.  No doubt it can be got cheaper on other websites.  Do you have trouble squeezing it all back in that little carry bag?

We use a duvet as well.  Carpet under the mattress, a very thin duvet (almost a mattress cover) on top, flanelette sheet then an all seasons duvet.  We have never been cold.

Hi we have the Intex Deluxe Queen Frame and it is a full queen size bed as we use our padded mattress topper sheet from home. The frame beds seem to be better for support over the standard type as they give more stability towards the edge of the bed and you can also adjust the pressure between the two half's to get the firmness just right.

Just one word of advice and that is go for the comfort frame as it does not have such a high head end which causes issues with the sloping sides of the tent.
