Just bought a Coleman stove and a few propane cylinders for it, like these:

http://www.coleman.eu/DE/p-23633-propane-cylinder.aspx

Headed off to France/Switzerland/Italy next week. Are these generally available on the continent? Or should we stock up here before we go?

Thanks!

cant answer your question but can reassure you they last longer than the time Coleman quote. I never had need to have ours on more than 50% power (I have the Coleman fold and go stove) and for the two of us after one week of being used every night for a cooked meal and at breakfast with the occasional lunchtime use too we are still on the first cylinder, with enough for a weekend left I reckon. I took three with me for the week not knowing how they would last. I did have ehu too so bolied the kettle then cooked with the boiling water to save the propane if that makes sense.

Have a good trip.

We're living in Switzerland and to be honest - you usually can find every size of Campingaz cylinder but I've not come across a Coleman cylinder. You may See Jumbo, Hornbach and Coop Bricolage signs over here. These are the equivalent of B&Q. Plenty of gas bottles (407 and 907's available too). Pricey though....

The Coleman propane canisters are fairly standard in the USofA.  But only recently introduced by Coleman here in the UK.

There are other brands in 'Murrica, but Coleman seems to be the only importer at the moment.  I suppose that, if the format takes off, there will be oodles of different brands available.  But for now, I would stock up here before you go to Europe.
