I am unable to watch TV using my laptop at any of the caravan club sites. I have windows vista, and use windows media centre, with a TV adapter. I have a length of coaxial cable which I plug one end into my TV tuner and the other end into the EHU bollard. Windows media centre states that it cannot find a signal. I have no problem when I use this set up at home using my roof aerial. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks

Two things to check is bollard analogue, digital or satelite(I Doubt but can never tell some site may have one.)
And what your tunner can accept it maybe an analogue tunner only and if signal is digital then it won't work.
thirdly try settings in wmc to scan for channels.

Hi
We are in the lakes at the moment and they have now gone digital, analogue was turned off in July. My tv tuner is digital. Do you know how to set wmc to scan for channels. I tried going into wmc > settings > TV > set up tv signal, but that's when it said that it couldn't find a signal.

Has the site owner got the system working since going digital. Many sites would have been running off analogue only relay stations, many of which will not broadcast digital after changeover. Site owner may need a new aerial and/or realign it.
Can anyone else on site get a signal from the system.
Can anyone else get a signal using your coax, or from your EHU. One of them may be faulty

Well to be fair, the only way you will get a reliable picture on a laptop is if watching via the internet Wi-Fi etc, using a tuner be it digital or analogue you are going to struggle, unless you have got a decent aerial, even then it will be hit and miss, to get guaranteed reception whilst camping you need satellite, and you can get satellite tuners for laptops, but of course that will also involve a dish, fact is a dish will be needed more so as time goes on, as once all the Analogue terestrial transmissions have been turned of, the Digital terrestrial replacing it will not give as good a coverage as what did the Analogue it replaces, and this will be especialy noticeable at out of the way places like campsites, so if you like your TV whilst camping, then the way forward has to be satellite, maybe somtime in the future satellite will be available without a dish, but that wont be for a very long time yet.
