Can anyone tell me the make of good bbq that i can put into the car easily, is compact, and easy to set up at the other end. Does not need to be big . prefer it if it wasnt at ground level but more at table height...any ideaas??
Hi, if it's a charcol one you are looking at then I recommend the Rockford foldaway bbq from B&Q. It's really easy to set up, takes less than a minute and is lightweight too.
If you are looking for a gas bbq, we use the Cadac Safari Chef. Again really easy to setup and lightweight.
It will last a lifetime, excellent warranty and it's a Weber. £42.00
Cooks well, can be used to grill of cook with the lid on. Easy to clean as well.
To make it easier I lay a sheet of tinfoil on the bottom to catch any crud that falls in it, let it cool down and wipe it all down. Done and packed in 5 mins.
Can't beat a Weber Go Anywhere BBQ IMHO for charcoal.
When using it on an aluminium roll up table, I always put a piece of wood underneath to prevent the plastic joints from melting.

we had a disater with our fold up grill but our friends had the grilltech notebook BBQ grill and it was great! they grill area was large enough to move food around and we took the top grill of and it became a fire pit! it folds completely flat too - were waiting for our to arrive!!
Amazon do them but they're out of stock. It'll cook by direct and indirect heat and we have cooked a home made pizza (the dough made in the caravn, by hand!) on a tray on it, using it as an oven. Tastiest pizza I've ever had (she said, modestly!) Mr Squirrel swears by this and he's a veritable barbe man!
If gas is your thing Cadac all the way, cooks great, lots of choice's on the plates used, simple to store, easy to use and best of all, a doddle to clean

Well as we are all into seconding - I'll second the Grilltech Notebook - folds down to less than an inch - excellent piece of kit.
I've just got one of these but I haven't used it yet. Any tips?
For me its cadac for gas and Weber for charcoal, however I prefer the larger 'Easy Chef' to the 'Safari chef 'but thats just a personal preferance if you are going into the southern half of france then charcoal bbq's can become a problem

B&Q Rockford folding BBQ is SH*T quality. And it costs 20-30 GBP depending if B&Q have a sale or not!
Nip down to Lidl - I bought one of their BBQs costing only £4.88! It is of good build, certainly no worse than the B&Q one. You can re-use the box it comes with (small size) to transport it.
If it isn't big enough then buy two - will cost less than a tenner!
