When i lost my keys to my roofbox I took it to a locksmith and he picked the lock in less than 1 minute and including fitting of a new lock the bill was less than £ 20.00
I think that's brilliant - check out someone's roof box key number (number stamped on the lock), pop along to Wilco, get a key, then empty out the roofbox when you know it's been filled up with camping or skiing gear! Don't even need to pick the lock so no risk of being pulled by the rozzers and being done for "going equipped"!

not a new idea ,cars were getting pinched with extra keys using the stencilled number on the windscreen
Don't think they are that secure in any case. When I lost keys to my Thule box on way to Cornwall I called out RAC. He simply put in a screwdriver and turned, didn't even damage lock. Worked fine when I got new key.
On top of that, when I asked supplier for a spare set they sent me a master key!!!!
