We had to return two Easy Camp chairs to OM for exactly the same problems - fraying and splitting. In fact on one, the seat bar came out of the side frame. This was on our first trip in the new tent, the w/e after the chairs were received, and we had to sit on the floor all w/e. And we're not big !
Anyway, contacted OM via email - as that's what their site said. No response. Got shirty and eventually they rang, and to be fair, arranged for pick up. They said if the chairs were "found to be faulty" they'd arrange a refund "within 28 days" from then. In our firm we refund in 3 days but I thought, well, it's the busy season, we'll see.
Thirty odd days passed and no refund so sent 'em another missive. Got a call, when we actually on our second trip, enjoying our new Royal chairs, apologising profusely, they'd "mislaid the file". Refund passed then, about 35 days after the return.
So, not totally impressed with OM, nor with Easy Camps chairs. At the time I copied Oase in (ultimate holding co for Outwell and Easy Camp, plus Robens) got no response whatsoever.
There's clearly been a problem with Easy Camp's chairs. I'd ring OM and speak to Laura, and mention these posts.
