My kids have been complaining about lack of space to store their bits. Plus the inflating of airbeds can be a pain at times so I am thinking of swapping them to camp beds next year.

Do others use these for their kids and any recommendations?

Combine the two, very comfortable and plenty of storage underneath

Just seen this set up of yours when searching old threads. It does look comfy. Had a look at the Argos camp beds. They seem to get mixed reviews.

Are they easy to put together? And do they fold up quite compact?

Believe me they are as comfy as my bed at home, they are so easy to set up and take around two minutes each, they also pack down quite well, not very big package at all

Our two boys have used the argos camp beds since they grew too big for the vw camper. In fact us oldies used to use them in the drive away awning as well. Very comfy. We use the self inflating matresses for the added comfort, with a blanket over that, then their sleeping bag, and over that their fleecy Honchos.

Plenty of room underneath for stuff, we use collapable plastic storage boxes for clothes, toys , games etc.

Our plan is to buy two of the large camp beds for us oldies to use in the tent. (Putting them together so they are like a double) We plan to buy something every month, this month it was the tent awning, next month a storage cuboard, then a camp bed...etc until we are fully stocked up ready for next years camp in the French Alps!

Mine use the cheap Eurohike campbeds, and say they`re very comfy. We pack all the clothes etc into those clear storage bags and they store them under the beds.

We have one of those Outwell campbeds Surfspud if you want it. We found it much harder to put up, and the bar across the top/ bottom sticks out, my wriggly small person managed to almost rip the bedroom pod with it during the night

The Euorhike beds pack up much smaller than the one pictured above

Just to add, I do find the height of the argos/gelert camp beds great for sitting on.  I think I would struggle getting up off the Eurohike ones...bad enough getting up from an inflatable mattress! Hee hee!

375

This piccie shows the 'sticky out bit' from the top/bottom bar. Have to admit, we have never had problems with them.  Oooh, I've just noticed, the Pop up pup tent..stored under the bed!  We used 2 on that holiday for quick overnight camps, saving getting the bed in the camper sorted and the awning for the boys...worked well. We also used them to store stuff in.

If you don't need/want it that would be great. It would be good to try it out and see what the kids think plus my daughter could use it when she has friends over as at the moment they have to sleep on the floor but then have nowhere to put all their bits. (Why do girls need a big suitcase and holdall for a one night sleepover?)

No, not me. Our camper has only been used twice this year. Weekend in the spring in Hay-on-wye, the other for a wet weekend with our new tent (Big Coleman matrix X6) to shell island. The boys had the tent while we had the camper.

Don't think we will be camping in our vw again. 17
