Not sure where to go with it now, I may try consumer advice.
Hi, I had similar reply as my cadac was also out of warranty. I sent email to them stating I was not happy buying a new grill plate as they are expensive and didn't want to take the chance as same thing could happen again. About a week later I received a replacement free of charge & this one is perfect.
It may be worth getting in touch with them again and tell them you are reluctant to buy a replacement for this reason.

I have done, almost straight away but didn't get a response! I'll give it a couple of days & see if I hear anything.
Didn't they ask for your address though or did they just have it on file from last time?
It may well be that they've sent too many replacements out & reluctant to be as helpful as they were? All I want is a good one!
Hi, I am sure I put my name & address on email. They didn't reply but replacement just arrived. This was the 3 rd replacement, the other 2 were both faulty & impossible to clean properly & surface peeled as soon as we used them. This one is completely different.
Hope you get a positive result. Good Luck.

Not had a reply today so not holding out much hope
Hi,
Try sending another email stating your concerns of same happening again if you purchase a replacement and put your name and address on. Also point out you are disappointed that such an expensive item doesn't live up to it's price tag.
You have nothing to lose, so worth another email.
