I want to put some extra eyelets in a tarp that will become a prototype for a suncanopy that can be fitted to either the cabin of a folding camper as a quick awning alternative or, when the awning is fitted, will fit to the front of that.
What I was wondering is if anyone has a recommendation for a piece of kit at a reasonable cost to add these extra eyelets. There are some for a few quid on e-bay but wondered how good they were.
------------- If you have a problem stressing you, sort it. If you can't, there's no point worrying about it coz it won't make a blind bit of difference!!!! Jules
You can still put poles through these Cingons.I put a spike attatchment on the end of the pole and but the guy over the top to hold it on works a treat. They have a ratchet on the larger ones that hold them onto the material

Clingons are brilliant, if a bit expensive to use as eyelets.
The brass eyelet kit is great in theory, but I have driven myself demented, and given myself many bashed fingers, trying to put neat eyelets into a groundsheet. It's fine if you have lots of patience and a high pain threshold.
Its not at all professional, but when I needed an extra hole I put Gorilla Tape (very strong tape, stronger than Duct tape) on both sides and just made a hole through middle. Worked fine.

The pen is mightier than the sword - but only if the sword is very small and the pen is very sharp...
gorilla tape with the eyelet in the middle adds that little extra strenth.
there is a knack to putting eyelets in ( if you find it let me know) actually i have use of a press to put them in as i made a trampoline skirt and aded eyelets to that but without the press gawd only knows. im guessing if you have use of a vice a home made press would be easily acheived
