Dear All

Thanks to all your advice...........and many minutes trawling through the various posts.............my wife and I have successfully acquired, towed back and erected our SunnCamp 400se.

It took us about 45 mins to get the whole TT up...............thanks SunnFlair for numbering the poles, we have colour coded them as well............. And I spent the day weatherproofing it....hose/water and luckily great weather.

I do have a question though, After the trailer area has been unfurled, the poles require extending using a button system. This proved the most difficult task, and our thumbs are still suffering. The force in which you need to depress the button and either pull or push the poles is worrying, I am sure the little metal buttons will not last!

Does anyone have some tips / suggestions on this?

I had these on my Folding Camper, found they went in & out easier after I sprayed them with some Pledge type furniture polish - the one with wax in. Be careful you don't get it on the canvas tho'. WD40 would do it but doesn't smell as nice & is messier.

If you can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, just keep going till you go round the bend.

When we bought our TT, the salesman advised us to lift the pole and release some of the pressure, BEFORE depressing the button. It works 95% of the time, the other 5% is down to swearing I am afraid!

Congrats on your new acquisition.  Here's hoping you enjoy lots of holidays.

A good camping/caravanning store will have silicone spray to lubricate poles otherwise do as has already been suggested, use a good furniture polish.

Treat the earth well. It was not given to you by your parents. It was loaned to you by your children.
