I must admit to being abit confused as to which ariel I buy. I want to use my portable 12V DVD/TV in the van but the supplied ariel is not much use. Infact, its totaly useless.
I think I need one with a booster, but theres so many and there prety expensive.
I dont mind spending the money if it works well! Whats all this directional mean?
Ive seen a couple on ebay marketed as Status for about 125 pounds, are these OK?
Blimey, that was quick. Thanks chaps. On doing a search, I have come to the conclusion that the flying saucer types are not much good and that directional is the way to go. Am i correct in saying that by directional, you have to move it yourself to get the signal??
Ive seen a Status 530 on Ebay for 124 quid. Its not the saucer type though.
So, after watching that, if you want a hassle free set-up and veiwing experiance, get a dish and a freesat box or the freeair thingy. Obviuosly a more expensive option but more reliable.
I will be after something that picks up a digital signal reliabley as my portable TV has a built in digital tunner. Thanks for that link though, it was still enlightening!
I found that link just after paying around £50 for ariel frm caravan suplies shop.
aldi and maplins are both selling a freesat system complete for same price, however theres some talk of dish being to small for reception in certain areas

Thanks for your utube info Gary H., found it very useful as I've played with finding signal over the last 3 months without huge amount of success, so I'm off to get my digital signal finder . Anyone any ideas where best place is and roughly how much they cost?
