This might seem like a silly question but does anyone know the "knack" to setting up one of the above cupboards?!?!  Purchased one earlier today from GoOutdoors and have had two attempts so far this evening to set it up but both have taken ages - no where near the "quick and easy to set up" description that a few reviews have mentioned!!

I assemble the base, thread the uprights through the four corners of the main unit and fit them into the base, then try to fit the top four sections together into the plastic corner pieces.  This is where I get the problem - everything just seems too tight to fit the aluminimum poles easily into the plastic corner pieces.  I get two sides in, then struggle like hell to fit the last two sides!  I've tried building it upside down i.e starting from the top and working down, as the bottom sides of the main unit velcro round the aluminium poles and therefore there's a bit more give when fitting the four sides together.  However this still isn't what I'd call easy by any means and I can't help but think there's a better way, or nifty trick, to set this up a whole lot easier!

Any help gratefully received!

Si

We do the same as you 'upside down' and make sure the base once put together is then slotted on then the velcro strips last.  We also struggled at first, tried with the door open to see if there was more give!!  We've used ours quite a number of times now and it does get easier.

You want to try one of the Outwell kitchens which you have to building in a similar way - 1st time we nearly collapsed with exhaustion but have mastered it now (as above the bottom section is always last to go on.

I build mine upside down - make the top frame, add the uprights (threaded through the sleeves, obviously!), then make up the bottom frame and slot it onto the uprights (rather than putting the corner pieces on the uprights then adding the bottom frame pieces.  Then pull the velcro straps round the bottom frame to secure it all.

Thanks for the replies! Relieved to know I wasn't missing something completely obvious.

Have tried it a few times now, each time building it upside down, and it is getting easier. Was a bit worrying to think of arriving on site, taking 45 minutes to pitch the tent, then 2 hours wrestling with the storage cupboard!!!

Heading over to Upton Barn next weekend so will put the practice to good use then!

Si
