Hi There,

We have enjoyed a couple of seasons camping now with our Sprayway Valley 6 and inevitably our accessories and creature comforts have grown and grown to a point where I am contemplating investigating in a trailer. I used to own a Saab 93 which I would split the back seats and use one half for the dog and duvet and the other smaller half opening into the boot for the tent poles etc. I also purchased a Thule Ranger 90 foldable roof box, which I think is great, which also helped with giving me more space.

We are expecting our first child in February 2010, so have changed the car in anticipation to an Audi A6 Avant. Great, loads of space I thought, but when you think child in the back seat, dog and a few bits in the boot and the rest of the stuff to go into the Roof box. Not a chance!! Hence the need for a trailer!!!

I have been looking at the Erde range over the summer at various campsites and they look the part and seem to have masses of volume for all the gear and more. Can anyone give me any pointers to which size of trailer will be adequate for our requirements please? 2 adults, 1 child (and maybe more in the yeas to come), I happy Staffy cross and loads of creature comfort camping gear!!

It's both  

If you've got the space, you'll fill it. Then before you know it, it's TT/FC/tin tent territory !

Hi Neil

Like cars, houses, tents,underpants you must always buy the biggest.You will quickly outgrow a trailer. Buy one with lots of room to spare.

A nice box trailer with marine ply sides is my preference but lightweight aluminium is fine.

I want a trailer that will hold camping gear and that I can put two bikes on top of. 

I'd appreciate any advice and suggestions of the cheapest places to buy.
