A gas heater will cause a bit more condensation in a synthetic tent, but you should vent the tent anyway if you're using gas.
We've got the Bluecat, the Blackcat and a Sunncamp Parabolic. The 'cats' are both okay to take the chill off, but if you want a really warm heater then I'd certainly recommend the Parabolic which fits onto a 904 or 907 Campingaz bottle - it really throws out some heat.
We've got electric and gas heaters for just the same reason as you - you're not tied to only using campsites with EHU points during the cooler months
