lately (today) I have been seduced by another lady, not a woman, but a sprayway polycotton windbreak!  However, they have metal poles

can you get polycotton wind breaks with wood poles - the metal poled ones are trash in my opinion.

In polycotton, I've only seen them offered by Outwell and Sprayway, ie tent manufacturers, but others may know better. A set of wooden poles from the likes of Blue Diamond can be bought

and there was a thread about them fitting the sleeves of the tent makers windbreaks, in place of the metal poles, which need guying as you know.

Whether it's worth the messing around ?

We have a cotton windbreak with metal poles (steel) and it is fab. Didnt move a milimetre :)

Angelic, do the poles go right in to the ground, like the beachy type wooden ones do ? Or does it still need guying all round like the Vango etc ones ? Is it something sold in the UK ?

I have to say our Vango one has been fine, but if I could be a***d, a set of wooden poles (if they fitted the sleeves) would save a lot of guying.

The Outwell/Sprayway polycotton WB's already have a premium price. I'd have thought if anything goes, it'd be the poles, rather than the actual material. So whether polycotton brings anything to the party, not sure.

Mike, the poles dont go into the ground. There is 1 guyline on each pole behind the WB and 1 at each end facing the front.

Does that make sense?

Not alot of guys for such stability.

I have bought several WBs over the years and OH has thrown every single one in the trash as he hates them but this one he likes... at last lol

We have this one  (the 4 panel version) and you can see on the pics how the guys go.

Yes, ours guys that way, and it's been fine, it's just with the porch/tent guys as well, there's plenty of scope for accidents after a nice vino tinto collapso

Def the dogs wotsits and for what it is, not expensive imho.

Anyway, we got ours from Marktplaats . Brand new and unused for less than half price :)
