Yes,I won one in the UKCS competition and it is great, It is very bright though, a dimmer switch would have been a good idea on it. I used it on a six week trip and charged it in the car as I went along.
I have one and its great. You can get a spare battery and charger so you can charge one and use one. Construction is very good much better than the cheaper ones I looked at.
I have one of these lights but mine does not mention Nightsearcher. It looks identical but has a 9w tube and was marker "Max Pro" on the box. (suprised they didn't add "Turbo" and go for the set :-)
I have just visited the Nightsearcher web site to price spares for my lamp as I am sure they would fit, but could not find any spares for Nightsearcher camping lantern.
I do agree though that they are an excellent lamp. Mine did heat up the Cig lighter cable when charging though. So much so that I have not used it since.
On the nightsearcher lanterns I have never experienced the cable for the ciggie charger to get hot, and I only ever charge mine off the ciggie lighter as I have lost the mains charger. Spares are available from Nightsearcher, visit their website and email them or give them a call for prices. Cheers Ratty
We had one and it was great, it went faulty and then stopped working altogether coming on dim then bright then the remote failed to switch it on and then nothing.
Don't get me wrong they are very hight quality and we are awaiting a replacement (after paying the £6 P&P ). We just got a duff one, hope ours comes soon.
