Hi Horace.
That was a good price for the RAC900 being Costco was that with VAT included?
I did consider the RAC900, but the convenience of being able to use the RAC700 from either front or rear sockets on the Golf was the deal maker for me.
The Golf can cope up to 20amp from the sockets on board, and my current requirements are 32Psi (2.2 Bar) max, for both car and trailer.
That's good idea having a dedicated connection to the battery for the RAC900, if I had gone for the RAC900 I would have done the same, or run it of the Leisure battery that we carry when towing.
My first Ring compressor was the RAC630 very fancy with it's auto LCD display setting and flashing lights etc, but I lost that when my Son got his first vehicle back in 2013, kid's eh!
The RAC630 is a good little unit, and the valve connector is quite impressive, but I decided I needed something with a little more ummph, and les gadgetry.
Hi, yes it included VAT - but I did have to pay 5% extra because I wasn't a Costco member (and didn't want to pay for the annual card)
I've ordered some Anderson powerpole connectors (small version of the traditional Anderson plug) which I'll use to fit a dedicated lead running from the batter, plus a couple of extension cables to suit car or caravan tyre applications.
I'm trying to work out a suitable cross section of cable for the extension leads, taking voltage loss into account. The powerpoles (30 amp) will accept up to 4mm, but that would result in quite a bulky cable over a decent length. 2.5mm would be less bulky, and should be OK (I think)
