Evening, looking in advance to reduce the bulky items when we go camping someone had mentioned how good the micro towels were?

Does anyone own one maybe have recommendations of makes/places to purchase?

Hi Lardyboy   I can certainly recommend the Gelert micro-fibre towels, had two of them for over three years now & they're still like new. The Gelert are like the Lifeventure ones, with a very fine nap, almost like a chamois leather. They fold up really small & dry you really well. I've got three different makes of these towels, and I prefer the Gelert ones.

I bought some of the cheap 'micro-fibre' towels which are very 'polyestery', they have a loop pile and don't fold up so small. However, the most irritating thing about these cheapy ones is that they catch on the very slightest bit of rough skin, sides of finger nails, heels, etc. and they are a bit static too. I take one of these camping just to use as a hair towel - no rough skin there, just a few splinters  - but I stick to my Gelert bath and hand towels.

My favourite microtowel is made by lifeventure, it is excellent. We have used other cheaper ones and did not like them, used them for polishing the car. Others will have their own favourites, but that's my preference, hope this helps.

so do they not snag on your hands ?

i have the most awful hands and micro fibre always sticks ??

Thanks everyone for the responses, i had been looking at these 2 makes online - will keep my eyes posted from now on for some offers see if i can get myself a bargain on them.

i had seen the cheaper ones but was unsure glad i posted on here. 

Ive got the Life Adventure ones for me and hubby - we have the giant bathsheet ones which are brilliant, dry you really well and then dry themselves within minutes.  They do snag your skin a bit for the first couple of uses but once they've been in the washer a couple of times they become much softer. 

The kids have those cheapy ones on Ebay which look a bit like a large blue chamois leather, I know plenty of adults on here use them & they do dry really well, but for us the size is better suited to the children & I was finding that my hair was drenching them.  I like a giant bath sheet to wrap around me after a shower which is why I went of the Life Adventure towels - we'd never go back to traditional towels for camping now.
