We use a small one like that in our caravan when its not in use to keep the chill off the air. I would have thought it would have been quite good in a tent although I would just check how hot it gets on the ground sheet and if you were worried put it on a piece of board.

We used a small one for autumn camping last year in the cabin of the camper. Once it has heated up it keeps the chill off if you do not switch it off. I must admit that we prefere to use our thermostat controled fan heater as this gives almost instant heat and is much warmer but the oil filled rad does have a place for many.

We use this one from Argos, a nice small size to pack in the trailer and because it's got a timer we can set it so its nice and cosy to come home to in the tent when been out for the day. We also leave it on all night to keep the chill off if needed. It's a great little rad. We also have a fan heater if really cold to boost up but this really does do the trick

We've recently bought one of the basic 700w radiators..and the term which has already been used,"..keeps the chill off..." is spot on.It's obviously doing something but we didn't really feel much difference when it was on and we ended up using the fan heater to give a boost(..mind you,it has been pretty chilly over the new year!)

If we could find a small version of the free standing convector/panel heaters,we'd get one of those..they chuck plenty of heat out,they're light and don't make a noise.

They melt tent walls.  Keep them away from the fabric.  Fan heaters are smaller, lighter & more instant heat is provided at thecost of the soumnd of the fan running.
