Hi, can anyone out there recommend a good air bed to buy bought 1 double and 2 single camping gaz from Argos last year and 2 have got puncture's, can't understand why as we place the air beds on blankets for extra protection and we have only used them twice. NOT IMPRESSED!!

Prepared to pay a little bit more to get something of good quality.

There is a current topic on airbeds, that has been going a few days now. You may want to take a look - I think aerobeds and Coleman comforts have been popular so far. We have the maxi (bigger) version of the Coleman comfort airbed. They do maxi singles too...

A little tip for airbeds – I always place a large mat under the beds prior to placing them on the ground and I have seen some people place cardboard down first to stop or reduce the risk of punctures! Makes for a nice warm layer too when you want to get up and it's cold on the ground.

I can just put up with zips being opened and closed all night without the hassle of airbeds wheezing….

The old fashioned rubberised cotton reeded type, you can't beat them. 

They last for years and don't split when folded like the modern plastic airbeds.

Just a note - we used ancient (20 years +) rubberised airbeds until recently and were going to just get replacements given some of the reviews about modern airbeds. We changed our minds, however, when we read about the reliability of the Coleman comfort airbeds and threads on the forum and comments elsewhere that the rubber used today is much thinner on the rubberised airbeds and that they are not so good or reliable as a result. As with other airbeds, there may be better ones - but none stood out! Went for the Coleman comfort instead and not regretted it!
