Do you now know which bottle to get? if you are still unsure just get a Calor propane 3.9kg bottle & regulator to go with, also a length of rubber gas pipe & 2 jubilee clips. Use in winter or summer, job done.

Ah thats the bit of information we needed, go with what Tentz says above small bottle use all year round, easily exchanged will most likely last you most of season just running that.
If you later upgrade to a gas cooler box (like a chest fridge) you can put a tee piece in the gas pipe and use the same bottle to run that too.

Not wishing to complicate matters further (!) I think we should remind islandgirl that Calor don't have a distribution network on the Continent, if she intends crossing the Channel.
I would think islandgirl is browsing through the package holiday brochures at this very moment thinking camping & caravanning is far too complicated to do and populated by a load of very strange but overly helpful folk!!

I think its cause we all got cabin fever! evenings are getting longer not dark at 4 pm any more thank goodness. I hope she does not ask what is the best thing for sleeping on or there will be another fight on here, fatairic, coleman comfort, aerobed no one of them camp beds, self deflating argos ones ............
