If I remember correctly the 'carri chef' is bigger ie larger diameter and quite a bit taller, and if you have the space I think IMHO its a better unit,

Our thinking when we purchased our ' Carri Chef ' was that we can cook a little in a big pan but not a lot in a little pan, I think for two adults you will be ok but for more than that IMHO the safari will be struggling. Mzzy riversway leisure had a sale on the carri chefs cant remember how much but it was a very good offer/

I use the SafariChef (I've got the LP version that runs of a Camping Gaz or Calor cylinder) if I'm on my own, or as an extra to the HandiChef when cooking for large groups. It;s just about big enough for two people, but no more than that.
We have the safari chef and find it more than adequate for two. We've also barbequed for four on it. We like the fact that it's quite low to the ground as it means you can cook sitting down!
I use the Safari for Carp fishing trips to France and have managed a roast pork joint and potatoes to feed 3.
The Carri Chef Deluxe I use for the van and have done brekky for 14 in 2 hits and keep the first lot in the caravan oven whilst cooking the 2nd batch. Happy days !
