There are some serious torches out there - I toyed with getting a Surefire E2D a while back (I had other needs for a bright torch at the time) I decided against it and now live with my maglite and head torch.
I got the kids a couple of these Glotorch thingies for Christmas - they seem fab so far! AND they glow in the dark so they can be found easily at night, which is a thoughtful touch...
