Do you know if there are rules for swapping a 13kg down to a Calor lite. Went to do this at the weekend on a CCC site and they said you can only swap a Calorlite for Calorlite. They mentioned that they recall having a letter from Calor last year giving this new rule.

I already have 2 Calorlite bottles and obtained these by swapping a blue 13kg and red 7kg.

Micky

Go to a Calor main dealer & ask them.  I don't think there is a rule says you can't, more likely a financial reason for this.

Steve.

Officially calor don't allow this. their policy is that only a 6 / 7 kg cylinder can be swapped for a calor lite. I have in the past gone to a local calor agent and swapped a 13kg for an ordinary 6kg - the local caravan shop would not swap these sizes over.

i think late last year changed the rules for calorlite and only lite for lite bottles now, where as before you could change any size for them so they could get them out in the market.

you can swap 6kg propane or 7kg butane for calorlite but not any other size. I'm stuck with 2 x 3.9kg propane bottles that no one will swap, and may have to bite the bullet and fork out £60 deposit for two calorlites.

If you go here Calor explains their dilemma

http://www.caravanning-online.co.uk/CalorLite/latest-news.htm

Demand has outstripped supply such that some kind of rationing has had to be introduced. It'll be powdered eggs and coupons for sausages next...
