Hello everyone, we are in the process of buying our first proper set of camping equipment and could use some advice.

In the past we have borrowed equipment and used the inflatable flock airbeds. Now I am not a huge fan of these -deflate, noisy, always in the way. I am considering the self inflating mats, how do these compare? Are they comy? Worth the extra cost?  Any downsides????

Hi David.

              We went for the "ThermaRest DreamTime XL's", they fasten together to make a Queensize bed, although a self inflating matt, they come with a foam insert and full cover ZiP on fleece, that has a strong vinyl base, the matt has two inflation points and are the real deal, downside is pack size and price to match, but in a word, they are the Dogs Nuts!.
