Thanks for the welcome! Love how friendly this site is! Yup wet wipes and chocolate are a good shout - my little boy can always be coaxed into happiness with a bar of chocolate! And after he's eaten chocolate you need the wet wipes of course...

So my checklist now runs to 5 pages of A4... Wonder if we can really fit all this into our little car! But I'm impressed by how well things pack down - design has improved no end since I last camped! Loving my new Airic self-inflating mattresses in particular - just arrived yesterday, only 12 hours after ordering them from Alpkit! Got a slim airic each for DH and I, and a wee airic for the littl'un. I need to buy one of those 'coupler' things so that DH and I's airics don't drift apart in the night... Last night I bought a double sleeping bag, a gas stove and a lantern on Amazon, and yesterday morning I went mad at Poundland - they had lots of stuff. Especially like the picnic blankets (they're small... so I bought four ) We've just been offered three camping chairs on long-term loan, so that solves that dilemma! I just hope they fold up small!

I still keep getting tempted by more things to buy though... My bookmarks list is all camping stuff that I keep looking at and thinking "mmm, but wouldn't it be so nice to have that Gelert Roll up table... oh but look at the camping laundry line, that wouldn't take up much space... And I do like that coolbag"

Meanwhile DH is saying 'Erm... Wasn't this supposed to be a BUDGET holiday, darling?'

hi

campings the best budget holiday you will ever have, the stuff will last for years, just keep it clean, check it regularly and you will have loads and loads of camping trips out of your money.

and of cousre if your sensible you will make sure that you have foldable, squashable, flattenable stuff, pack it well and youll have no problems fitting it all in,

and try taking smaller portions of things, like sauce, oil, herbs, sugar, tbags etc... we use those travel bottle kits, just the right amount for a family weekend.

I bought 6!

Honestly you'll keep being tempted by all the goodies so the best thing to do is limit your time online lol......
