My 1995 ABI Dawnstar Deluxe has one of the (useless) 'omnidirectional' ariels on the roof. It won't pick up Freeview channels, and I'm planning to get an ariel that I fix to my jockey wheel. Obviously the mast thingy isn't rocket science, but what's the best directional ariel? (without me spending a fortune). An 'Image 430 UHF/FM/VHF' model ((about £26 from Waudby's), perhaps???
Any suggestions?
Cheers,
Sean
I asked a similar question recently and was pointed in this direction.... Image 620, basically an Image 420 but with mast etc. I was looking at the Image 630 (430 with mast) but went for the 620 in the end. It arrived yesterday and is picture perfect.
Thanks for the help!
This does indeed sound like what I'm after. I'll take the plunge and get the 620 with mast and all the fittings...
You get all (or most) of the digital freeview channels on it, yes?
I pointed the aerial in the sort of direction of my house aerial and picked up all the freeview channels I normally get.....ITV2/ITV3/ITV4/BBC3/BBC4/SKY3/Cbeebie/CBBC/CITV/SKYNEWS.
I ordered mine on the link above Tuesday evening and it arrived yesterday afternoon!
I find the ones that look like traditional TV aerials are difficult to store and the little elements bend about easily. They seemed to be a different shape every time I got the thing out of the van!
I think Maxview do one with a mainly plastic centre.
