Hi all

For the past few years I've been pontificating about getting a Cadac, but never get around to actually buying one. I'm well aware that there a lot of fans out there! Does anyone know of particular retailers who might have offers on at the moment?

Or generally just the best place to buy one from.

Thanks

Karen

It will depend on what model I guess.

I bought a Safari Chef LP Deluxe from Discount Towing and Leisure on ebay for £52 plus £5 postage.

Nextday delivery by APC.

We were posting about it last week on here an another member took my recommendation and was super happy with price and speed too.

Are these generally in stock, I saw a post the other day that mentioned retailers are not re-stocking until late April?

Thanks everyone, I didn't think about ebay. I know the one I'm after but don't know the name of it - its the standard long-legged blue one. Chef Deluxe? Usually about £100 but can get it cheaper without all the bits?

And that leads me to another question, what "bits" would you recommend as essential. I don't want to be buying parts that I'll never use. Basically I want it for Fry-ups and bbq stuff, though apparently I can cook spag bol and paella and stuff on it? That sounds very interesting. And yum..

the lid does take up a bit of room but gives you loads of possibilities (I also bought roast pan) - I cooked a roast chicken the other week out my back door on cadc (just for the heck of it) and it was delicious. Am thinking that I can also heat up pizzas, pies etc (lid allows you to use cadac like an oven).  I dont have paella pan or skottle but appararently you can do wonders with these too.

Hi, I got the lid and pan from Riversway Leisure only a couple of weeks ago, took one day to deliver. I have the cadac eazi chef and it uses the cylinder (not the cannister) whichever one that is (I think it is LP).  I wish I had gotten the Cadac ages ago!

Hiya again

Space or weight isn't an issue because we're sited, and the awning is up May-End of September. I think its the Easy Chef Deluxe I was thinking of, Didn't know whether to buy the basic model and collect accessories separate or whether it would be cheaper in the long run to get the kit (£129 as mentioned above).

Really liked the sound of cooking the chicken! We were intending on using it with the external gas point on the van - are they adaptable or do you have to use certain gas and attachments? Clueless!

Thanks again

I'd go for the one with all the attachments if space isn't an issue - you will find uses for al the bits LOL, I went for the basic eazi chef but with I'd just gone ahead and got the whole shebang!

Thanks Teeny, you've convinced me, I'll start searching for a good price. OH thought we should go down the cheap route and just buy the basic model but I just needed convincing that I'd use the rest of it.

Next we need a permanent recipe forum dedicated to the cadac!
