Hi, we have the eazi chef and the flame is adjustable but is variable by turning the button -  when in use the flame can be seen by peeking through one of the holes on the main blue unit to increase or decrease.  It is workable though and produces good results for cooking, just a bit of a faff.  Eazi chef lights like any other gas hob without ignition - light with matches or lighter without the heat deflector or anything on first then put on whatever attachments once lit.  Again, easy enough though fiddly.  The eazi chef is supposed to be lighter and the legs easier attachable, that is the other difference.

Thanks for that clarification feeblecat. It most likely will come down to affordability (I can even see that as a spendaholic!) especially as still to persuade oh!
