Apologies for yet another Cadac post, and if this has been done before I also apologise, but I am so EXCITED!!!!  I know it is only a BBQ but we've one ordered and can't wait to get cooking.  I have looked at the Cadac recipes online but I would really love to hear what you all cook on yours, what are your favourites.

I'd like to try pancakes, anyone had success with these?  We love pancakes, maple cure bacon and maple syrup for breakfast while away in van, so any other great ideas for breakfasts and BBQ's?

Wendy

Haven't tried pancakes; sounds interesting.  But we do use it for English breakfasts. Also do things like chicken stir-fry, using the Skottel.    And, by fitting the grill and using the lid, use a stainless steel pan with foil cover to cook things like salmon steaks/scallops/cod steaks/etc.  Planning to try this method to cook a beef or pork joint.  I think the limits are as endless as your imagination.  Wouldn't be without our Cadac; hope you enjoy yours.

Bertie.

We use Propane.  We have a connector pipe (about 4 metres long), which connects to the outside gas point on the van.  Some may say this length of pipe is a H&S issue, but this is only from a tripping hazard (confirmed by Calor, Southampton who supplied the pipe). You do need to get the appliance well away from the caravan and awning.

We also have a separate 1.5 metre pipe with a regulator for direct connection to the cylinder.  This is useful if you need to find a place out of the wind/rain, or if there is a dedicated BBQ spot where you must take your Cadac/BBQ.
