Okay this is a totally pointless post but my OH has been driven mad by something on the colman inalterables lol

Does anybody know what the use is of the little red cylinder that pushes in the closed valve?

I've been putting off posting ths but he won't shut up, so for a quite life here it is

I've always assumed it was to reduce the chance of the plastic being flattened and the plug breaking off.

Same here - although the plastic link to the cap on our single Coleman Comfort has snapped anyway. Doesn't affect the bed's performance in any way, but a shame!

We lost one of the red bits on ours last time out, so I expect we'll have the same problem at some point.
