Hi,

Looking for some information & kits on water pumping system.

Currently there is no running water in the caravan but there is a sink and taps, Water is currently being used straight from a container and poured into the sink . . . .

Is there a system available that will allow me to install a pump between a refillable water tank and the taps that will allow water to come through the taps when opened,

Im sure theres a simple solution and would love any advice that will be of help.

Thanks in advance

Lee

Hi Lee

Is the caravan fitted with 12V electrics via a leisure battery ? Does it have a water inlet somewhere outside on the right ?

You mention taps, plural. Kitchen, bathroom ?

It'd be odd if there was a pair or pair of taps yet nothing else to give you 12V pumped cold water plus hot water via a heater.

You need a 12v water pump which fits on the end of the water pipe which drops into the water container, this gets it's 12v supply from a differental pressure switch which fits into the water pipe somewhere just after it enters the van, which in turn is fed from the battery via a suitable fused supply.

When a tap is opened the switch starts the pump. Hey presto running water.

I am sure there will be after market kits which will have all the bits you need.

Good luck

Hi, Sorry

The caravan is a static van which is not mains fed, the taps refered to are kitchen & bathroom taps,

It has 12v electricity powered & charged by solar panels, these currently run the lights and television so am assuming sufficient to power a water pump of somekind

I should point out thats its not my van, i'm more of a "under canvas type"!

Hi Lee, right, bit over my head then

I was thinking back to our FC days when we had caravan style water coming in through an outside connector panel, 12V powered via the tap switches.

You'd need some kinda kit as RAF suggested, maybe run from a leisure battery rather than relying on the solar panels.

But you've no inlet outside ? Do the taps have pipes running to them ? If so, where do they run from ?

If the 'van isn't yours I'm not sure how feasible it actually would be. Good luck.

As it is a static, is there ot a mains feed connection underneath and are the taps mains type rather than low pressure caravan sort?
