Ok so i have bought my mobicool 240/12v fridge, but can anyone give me advice on how i set up and run it from a leisure batterie when i'm not at a hook up site. Which batterie type size/ how long it'll last(run time) and what i need to set up the system, eg. cigar adapter etc.

Thanks

You won't run it for very long on a battery. Typically coolboxes of this type draw up to 7 amps on 12v. Working on my usual rule-of-thumb you can get 50% of the stated capacity of a battery, so a 110Ah large leisure battery will give 55Ah. Divide that by 7A and you'll only get 8 hours running!

Even a small coolbox drawing 4A would only run for 13 hours or so.

Have a look at...

I'm still working on these FAQs but it might help a bit to explain.

There are fridges made by Waeco that are specifically designed to run on 12v only (we have one in our van).

Anything else that is either 2-way or 3-way is only designed to run on 12v when it is being powered by a vehicle with its engine running.
